Scratching, itching! Thanks Lance for the heplful explanation. It all makes sense now. However, the expected 8 and a half minutes behind the fastest rider assgined to me, whilst flattering was rather unlikely having twice ridden a 10 mile at Hillingdon coming in at over 36mins i would have put it at higher (around 14), but never mind- it doesn't really matter, i know, it's all about the next ride, if there is one !

restaurant franchises.there are many lttigimaee franchises.if you see it on the street (sonic or mcdonald's) then it's probably legit.if it sounds too good to be true then it is.why don't you start your own business landscaping, cleaning houses, medical transcription, whatever you know how to do.there are lttigimaee business opportunities, but they are usually a LOT OF WORK and many of them require a lot of selling. Most of them are scams. The info that really works is: start your own enterprise which is really really hard orget a regular job so you can finance starting a business on the side doing taxes or making websites or .there's no free lunch or easy jobs that make a lot of money.even real estate and flipping houses is a lot of work and requires capital.

Hi Gayle! Kate's site is at http://katezimmerman.ca/ and her blog is http://katezimmerman.typepad.com/. Not sure if she's written about tree removal...yet.

Gayle Aitken

Can you please add link to Kate's website?
Us TO types wanna see it!

Apparently, it's got good info on tree removal in BC!

cheers

Ron Shewchuk

Thanks, Ignacio!

I have you in my Bloglines. I don't have enough time to see it all days, but it waits for me there, in my special section: "Internal Communication".

Regards from a fan in Buenos Aires.

Ron Shewchuk

Les, you made my week. Thank you. Your kind words motivate me to forge on. Employee communications is a long road, and it's mostly uphill. It's nice to be handed a cold glass of lemonade once in awhile!

Les Potter

Ron, please accept my heartfelt if late congratulations on your blog's anniversary.

Please don't change a thing in this excellent blog. I love the fact that you are dedicated to employee communication, my favorite of all things career-wise.

Given that most textbooks are weak in employee communication, I have your blog to help me teach this all-important topic to my students. Thanks for that bit of lesson planning assistance.

Cheers for many more years of your wit and wisdom, Ron.

Special thanks to the lurkers, who boost my spirits and my blog stats!

Sue, Don and Kristen, I do appreciate the feedback. I've struggled a bit with this blog because in some ways I'm trying to be a bit of everything.

Crescenzo has his hilarious, incendiary, slapstick column/blog, Murray has his friendly conversation among peers, Shel has the tech angle -- great bloggers usually have a pretty clear vision of what they're trying to do. Mine is clear but it's very broad. I've thought about narrowing it but I don't want to lose some readers for the sake of keeping others more interested. I'm happy if people check in to see what's going on and jot down a comment once in awhile. In the meantime, the library of posts on different topics builds up and, for new visitors, there should be some worthwhile reading for anyone who's interested in employee communications.

And then there's the random googlers, and you never know what they're searching for. The other day I got a thank you note from someone who had been looking for years for the recipe for Kraft Mincemeat Cheesecake. I hadn't even remembered posting it but it was nice to have made someone's day.

Kristen

Ron - Your blog is one of only five that I have in my favourites, and which I review regularly. There just isn't time in my world for hours of web surfing so it has to be very valuable to me to go into the favourites.

Your comments/posts are always pertinent and insightful to the work I do, and I often discover other sites, reports or people through your posts that I wouldn't likely come across on my own.

Congratulations on your anniversary!

Don Lariviere

Ron...I've also been one of the "lurkers" who stops by to read the latest but doesn't always have time (or, better, "make" time) to comment, but keep up the great work. I'm trying to work up the nerve to drop your "Dear CEO" letter on my CEO's desk, but since I'm a one-person shop I think he'd figure out where it came from. Someday soon...

Sue Horner

Congratulations, Ron! I'm one of those who read regularly and comment sporadically so you may not hear from me again for months. It may seem sometimes you are "preaching to the choir" of committed communicators, so it's good to know you've been able to be a resource. Keep up the good work!

Ron Shewchuk

Thanks Harold, and woohoo back atcha, David.

It's funny, you know. I guess I was blogging fairly early, but friends like Shel Holtz http://blog.holtz.com/index.php and Rick McCharles http://rickmccharles.com/ had blogs for several years before I dove in. They're the real pioneers. I'm just an early adopter.

And yes, this interweb thingy is going to go far, I think.

Harold Simons

WOW Ron...you were blogging two years ago!!!

Isn't that the modern equivalent of being the first on the block to have colour TV or one of first Ford Model T owners?

I guess this internet thing is here to stay.

You do Rock!

David Murray

So the comments are "ALMOST always meaningful," eh Ron? I can't interpret this as anything but a thinly veiled attack on me. And in reply I say this:

WOOOHOOOOOOO!
